The Mueller Report, Part 2

On April 18th, the Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 Presidential Election, was released to Congress and the public, which, predictably, exonerated Trump from accusations of collusion with Russia. And yet again, I was right that it would be a nothing-burger. A no-brainer prediction, but I’ll take credit for it anyway. Now the question on people’s minds is, will Trump take a more assertive role in his presidency and start delivering on his campaign promises now that he has been cleared, and my answer is still “no.”

Remember, on March 24, Barr sent a four-page letter to Congress, stating “…the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.” So Trump was already cleared almost a month ago. Since then, Trump, however, has backtracked further and further:

On March 27th, Trump officially recognized Israel’s annexation of Golan Heights.

On March 29th, the H-2B visa cap was increased by 30,000.

On April 6th, an additional 30,000 temporary work visas were granted.

On April 6th, Trump met with Sheldon Adelson and the Republican Jewish Coalition.

On April 16th, Trump vetoed a resolution calling to end US support in Yemen war.

Trump himself knew all along he didn’t break the law. The memo states that “his aides saw danger and stopped him from following his own instincts.” So why would he suddenly change.

It’s evident that Trump does not care about MAGA or his supporters anymore (assuming he ever did), that there is no ‘secret plan’, no 4-d chess, and that this trend of appeasement of Israel and other moneyed-interests shows no signs of reversing.
