The Daily View 5/23/2025: Prostate Cancer, Harvard, Tax Cuts, Claude 4

#1 Scott Adams reveals he has the same cancer as former President Joe Biden. As we know, Biden revealed on Sunday he has late-stage prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, making it terminal. But more surprising, Scott Adams, only 67, revealed a similar diagnosis and says he has until only Summer.

A few things: Obviously it was a coverup on the part of the Biden administration. My guess is, around late 2023/2024 or so he went in for screening and the results were not good and necessitated a biopsy. This would have incapacitated him, invoking the 25th Amendment of the Constitution, and the results would have had to have been disclosed, revealing the bad diagnosis. This would have precluded him from running for reelection, and without any good replacements, the diagnosis was concealed in the hope he would make it past the election. This could also explain the willingness that he stepped down after his infamously poor debate performance.

Second, the fact Scott Adams, who in his videos is otherwise outwardly healthy and non obese, yet still got such a grave diagnosis, shows how people’s priorities in so far as living longer are possibly misplaced. If the goal is to live as long as possible, forget the ‘blue light filter’ or the mandatory ‘10,000 steps a day’; get your cancer screenings. The major cancers have a tendency of affecting people only in their 40s-60s, not just extremely old people.

#2 The news is progressing faster than the rate at which I can cover it. Today, only a day later, a judge blocked Trump’s order which would have prevented Harvard from enrolling international students.

Yesterday people were overreading into this as an attack on wokeness, or as an opportunity to reform Harvard.

“If Harvard wasn’t allowing violence against Jewish people on campus, and promoting DEI, this could’ve been avoided. But Harvard is not moral nor wise.”

It has nothing to do with DEI, and 100% to do with Israel.

As I wrote last month, this only has to do with the perception that these elite colleges are promoting and condoning antisemitism. It has nothing to do with DEI or those other aforementioned issues. As soon as Harvard accedes to Trump’s demands to police alleged antisemitism on campus, it’s back to business as usual. Or Harvard can just run the clock down until Trump is gone.

#3 Trump tax bill clears House. As I correctly predicted, just like his first term, Trump prioritized tax cuts. This is an easy legislative win, popular with voters, and much easier than trying to reform other issues.

#4. Anthropic launches Claude 4, its most powerful AI model yet. What people have to understand is that AI benchmarks and other performance metrics are just marketing dressed up as objective research. These companies are worth tens or even hundreds of billions of dollars. They can easily afford data ‘scientists’ and armies of social media shills to hype or oversell the claimed abilities of these programs, especially when there is so much money on the line. For example, the claim of AI being able to solve Olympiad math problems is just the Texas sharpshooter fallacy or confirmation bias. Meanwhile, AI struggles at integrals and complex numbers.
