  • Week 4 of the Newt Gingrich Surge and NO Signs of Slowing [Edit or Delete]0 comments
    Dec 6, 2011 12:51 PM
On its 4th week, the Newt Gingrich surge is stronger than ever without even the slightest sign of slowing. The wealth spreaders' attempts to stop, let alone slow the Newt surge have been epic fails. Why? Cuz these supposed 'skeletons' in the closet just ain't spooking potential voters, and media isn't taking the bait either. The evangelicals don't care. The major papers like the Wall St. Journal, Washington Post and New York Times don't care (with the possible exception of the lightly read, unimportant editorial sections). The major news networks like CNN and Fox don't care (the possible exception being MSNBC who's ratings are too low to matter). The tea party doesn't care. Oh and Newt also has the unwavering support from the media and political elite like Bush strategist Karl Rove, Fox News's president Roger Ailes in addition to Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill Oreily.

Is Newt only the flavor of the month? No way. This time is different. In the history of primary politics, Newt's surge is  unprecedented in terms of resiliency, magnitude, and suddenness. Just a month ago Newt's instrade was at 3% and now exceeds that of all the other candidates combined. Huntsman, Cain, and Perry have zero chance according to not just Intrade but preliminary Iowa polling data. It pretty much Newt as the uncontested front runner followed by Romney in distant second and a bunch of other losers. Ron Paul is still a novelty candidate who's numbers will rapidly fall come polling time.

    From the Wall St. Journal:
    http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2011/12/06/newt-gingrich-surges-in-new-polls/

The former House speaker has surged to a commanding lead in the GOP nomination race in South Carolina, the first southern state to hold a primary, according to a new Winthrop Poll. Mr. Gingrich leads Mitt Romney 28% to 22% in the Palmetto State, home to many evangelical Christians and conservative activists. The state’s Republican primary voters have backed the eventual nominee in every election since 1980.

On a more personal note, I'm still voting republican because I want to keep America great. I don't want my wealth spread. I want the economy to keep booming, for stocks to keep going up and for our homeland to be safe.

Libs like to whine about America falling behind, but the opposite is true. America still has the most consumer spending, Facebook & Twitter, the most dynamic economy, fastest GDP growth, Fox News, the official reserve currency & printing press, and the best performing stock market. American students not performing well in math and science? The solution is simple: just insource more smart people. That's what companies like IBM and Cisco are doing. In an era of globaliztion & hypercapitalism, consumerism should have precedence over education.
