Federal Reserve chief Ben Bernanke reinforced his call on Thursday for Congress to raise the cap on U.S. borrowing, saying a failure to do so could lead down the same risky path that the failure of Lehman Brothers did
Huge BRIC surplusses are depressing rates because these surplusses are being used to aquire massive quantities of virtually 0% yielding treasuries.
That is why deficits don't matter.
Bernanke is wrong about the propects of a relapse of 2008; instead he's using it as a scare tactic to get the debt ceiling raised. He knows as well as I do that the financial sector is under control.
