Trump is here to stay

David Brooks thinks Donald Trump will be impeached. Don’t count on it.The New York Times columnist penned an entire column about preparing for “the post-Trump era,” concluding that “the guy will probably resign or be impeached within a year.” He’s not alone. On the left, filmmaker Michael Moore predicted on Morning Joe that American won’t “have to suffer” through a whole term of Trump since “he will—maybe unintentionally—break laws.”

I agree…Trump is not going anywhere. Congress does not like Trump that much, but know that trying to impeach would cause far more problems than it could hope to solve (and the pro impeachment case is weak anyway). David Brooks and Michael Moron are part of the ‘legacy media’ and are largely irrelevant in so far as the ‘national debate’ is concerned. For David Brooks, especially, who so arrogantly and incorrectly predicted in October that Hillary would win, it doesn’t matter whether he is right of wrong: his loyal New York Times readership will continue to lap-up whatever he writes. It’s just toeing the line…it’s what he’s paid to do and what his readers expect. Of all the NYTs columnists, Ross Douthat is not only the most incisive and original, but is the most effective in terms of influencing discourse, which is even more impressive considering how little promotion he gets by the NYTs compared to the rest of their roster.

But there is no ‘Trump era’ to speak of. It’s an era of whoever preceded Trump, and who ever preceded who ever preceded him, ad infinitum leading back to Gnon. These people are just actors carrying about its will.
